Canon has continued to update their A-Series digital cameras. The new A630 and A640 replace the popular A610 and A620 cameras.

The body of the cameras has changed slightly with the addition of a larger LCD screen (2.5" vs. 1.8" on the older cameras) and the new models benefit from a faster processor making every function of the camera noticibly faster. Below are the backs of the A630 and A620 cameras for comparison.

Like the previous cameras, the A630 and A640 feature a 4x optical zoom lens. Matched with our custom macro lens, the A630 and A640 will focus down to a field approximately 1.25 inches wide
(4-5 teeth). Focus aquisition has also been improved with a faster processor.

The difference between the A630 and A640 is resolution and color: the A630 is a silver 8 megapixel camera and the A640 is a black 10 megapixel camera. Both offer amazing image quality and natural color.

The PhotoMed/Canon A630 or A640 Digital Dental Camera is specifically designed to allow you take all of the standard clinical views with "frame and focus" simplicity. The built-in color monitor allows you to precisely frame your subject. Focus and shoot. It's that easy.

Proper exposure and balanced even lighting are assured. By using the camera's built-in flash, the amount of light necessary for a proper exposure is guaranteed and PhotoMed's custom closeup lighting attachment redirects the light from the camera's flash to create a balanced, even lighting across the field.

Like the previous G-Series and A-Series cameras, the A630 and A640 features a "swing-out" LCD monitor (this allows you to angle the screen for easier viewing when you are shooting at an angle) and one custom setting that allows you lock in a lens position for repeatable magnifications. For dentistry, this allows you to set one specific "magnification" and repeatedly shoot the same field size over and over. For ortho, you can set the custom setting for the
1:2 magnification (anterior, occlusals and buccals).

The A630/A640 Digital Dental Camera System works with all imaging software packages - Windows or Apple operating systems.
